International Student Council (ISC)

The International Student Council provides international students the opportunity to represent the international community at the university and to help improve the international student experience.
The Internaitonal Student Council (ISC) serves as a platform that ensures and enhances communication and cooperation between the international student community, the domestic student community, and university faculty/staff, as well as the local community.

The ISC sponsors coordinated events that showcase the cultures and lifestyles of the International Community, attempts to educate the ISU community and create awareness about humanitarian issues around the world, provides opportunity for exchange of ideas among constituents and represent constituents before university leaders.

Expectations of Council Members

  • Attend all council meetings (listed to the right). Each meeting will be attended by a campus leader (i.e.: Director of Student Housing or Dean of Students), so it's important to have everyone at each meeting. One excused absence will be allowed.
  • Be knowledgeable about problems, concerns, and complaints within the international student community. Be prepared to bring up those concerns in meetings and to work with campus leaders who can help to resolve those problems.
  • Attend other campus and community international events as able.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this council, please complete an application. The Fall 2018 application will be posted during the first week of classes.
