IASA Events

Each semester, IASA organizes numerous events to help international students connect with others and to experience American culture.
The types of events that we organize each semester vary based on the time of year, holidays, and other factors. Our events are always free and open to all Ole Miss students both International and American. More infromation about each event will be posted, along with an event page on Facebook, with details about the location, time, carpooling, etc.

Below, you will a partial list of our events planned for the Fall 2017 semester. We still have several event ideas still being finalized, so look for even more events coming throughout the semster, like a ping-pong-tournament and Mr./Mrs. International pagent.

Labor Day Cookout at Sardis Lake

Date: TBA
Location: John W. Kyle State Park at Sardis Lake (Carpool from Oxford)

It's an American tradition to gather your friends on Labor Day for a cookout. Join the IASA international family this Labor Day for a day of food, friends, fun by the lake, and other outdoor activities. The lake is approximately 20 minutes from Oxford, but carpooling from campus will be available.

Bonfire at Lake Puskus

Date:  TBA
Location: Puskus Lake Recreation Area (Carpool from Oxford)

The weather starts to cool down around October/Novemeber, so what's better than a good-ole-fashion bonfire? We'll carpool the 20 minute ride out to the lake for a good time with friends and plenty of hot dogs and s'mores.

IASA International Formal

Date:  TBA
Location: TBA

We realized that International students typically don't have the opportunity to go to a "Formal" type dance event while at Ole Miss, so we created our own and always invite everyone. The attire is "semi-formal" and atmosphere is a mixture of culures through dances, food, and fellowship.

Minute to Win It Game Night

Date: TBA
Location: TBA

"Minute to Win It" is a popular American game show where contestants try to complete all sorts of crazy challenges in a minute or less. It's a great chance to come together and to have a TON of laughs while cheering on your friends, and maybe even yourself, to victory.
